Basement Preparation
| After the footer is poured, drain tile is laid
around the interior and exterior of the footer. The ends are
tied into the sump pit.
1” gravel is spread level with the top of the footer in preparation for
the walls to be poured. This ensures several things, the drainage system is
installed, the proper amount of gravel is in place for the basement floor,
the workers setting and pouring the walls are working in a clean

| and dry environment. A pump can be put into the
sump pit if necessary. The plumbing also gets installed with
more accuracy.
After the walls are poured, and the plumbing approved, a
vapor barrier goes down and it’s ready for concrete.
By having efficient systems in place the foundation is ready for framing
within seven days without any sacrifice to quality.
